Step back in time to world gone by, to a world of fantasy as the Michigan Medieval Faire at Canterbury Village is taken over by faeries, witches, wizards, goblins, elves, orcs and dragons. To a time where “Myths & Magic” ruled in all the realms. It’s time to dawn your wings and elf ears and join in the festivities.

Here is your chance to take the time to create your own costume and then show it off to all the other patrons at the faire!!! Pick your favorite character whether it be Tinker Bell, the Tooth Faire or possibly you may consider taking on the character ofan elf such as Legolas from Lord of the Rings or the Wicked Which of the West or even a Goblin such as Puck, or even Gallywix, king of the goblins. Regardless pick one and experience the magic at the Michigan Medieval Faire!!!

  • COSTUME CONTEST - 1:30pm on Saturday and Sunday at the William Wallace Stage. Show off to the faire that you are in fact the worst dressed Viking around!!! Contest for all ages – Brought to you by Canterbury Village!
  • BEST WIZARD's BEARD CONTEST - 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday at the William Wallace Stage Think your beard is magical??? Enough to win "Best Wizard’s Beard"? We'll be the judge of that! Brought to you by: Natural Viking LLC
  • BATTLEFIELD CHALLENGE - ·      All Day Saturday and Sunday at the Rangers of Asgard ranges. Challenge yourself with some Viking Ax throwing and Archery challenges – see if you have what it takes to battle the Orcs and villains so that the Warriors of Light prevail!!!
  • HAPPY LITTLE HEATHENS STORIES FROM MIDGARD - Sit back and discover ancient Stories of Myths and Mythology as told by Shannon Masten, creator of the YouTube Channel “Happy little Heathens Stories from Midgard” and author of several children’s books on Norse Mythology

  • ‍Helaman's Warriors – Prepare yourself, as you choose sides for either the Warriors of the Light or the Armies of Darkness, to take up arms and meet the challenge of an epic battle that will determine who will be victorious and who will be vanquished. You will enter into this fun filled experience with boffers (foam covered weapons) created in the armory of Helaman's Warriors. Helaman's Warriors strives to bring durability and safety to play. They carry 5 sizes of swords for toddlers to adults, cloaks, shields and spell bags for sale at their booth at the faire.

Viking Invasion!

July 23-24

The Norsemen are coming!!! These invaders from distant lands will cause havoc throughout the streets of Canterbury Village as great warriors, feast, drink, and plunder their way through the faire. Be prepared to join in this weekend to have loads of fun and frivolities!

Here is your chance to take the time to create your own costume and then show it off to all the other patrons at the faire!!! Pick your favorite Viking of Barbarian character whether it be Ragnar Lothbrok, or Lagertha shield maiden or possibly Xena Warrior Princess or Atalla the Hun you may consider taking on one of these the characters. Regardless pick one and experience the magic at the Michigan Medieval Faire!!!
